Sherman+Reilly showcased its largest exhibit space to date at the 2023 Utility Expo in Louisville, at 38,000 square feet and had the highest number of collected leads among over 900 exhibitors. The Utility Expo is the third largest trade show in North America with over 1.5 million net square feet and over 21,000 attendees from all 50 states and 60 countries. Attendees had a chance to experience and learn about equipment and technologies in the utility sector, like Sherman+Reilly transmission and distribution electric utility line stringing equipment.
Nine new pieces of equipment were on display including three E+ Series electric units: the PT-3000E+, a 3,000 lb. single drum electric puller tensioner; a PLW-200E+ 2,000 lb. four drum electric pilot line winder; and the Duct Dawg Air E+ electric underground puller with an on-board air compressor which is currently in development.
Also introduced at the Utility Expo in the Heritage Series were: the BWT-1424H, a 4,000 lb. 42 in. bullwheel tensioner; the BWT-1363H, a 3,000 lb. 36 in. bullwheel tensioner; the BWT-1545H, a 5,000 lb. 54 in. bullwheel tensioner; the P-6000H, a 6,000 lb. puller with a 62 in. reel; and the PLW-400H a 4,000 lb. four drum pilot line winder. Also in the booth was the new S-785-T Spider® Trailer. The Spider® Trailer is designed to be used with the Spider® System and has a pulling capacity of 700 lb. and a 30 in. reel.
In addition to the nine new units, S+R had these 16 additional units on-hand for attendees to see in-person: the Heritage PT-3000H puller tensioner, Heritage PLW-200H pilot line winder, E+ Series electric Duct Dawg E+ underground puller, T-7212 bullwheel tensioner, PTV-6013 puller tensioner v-groove reconductorer, PLW-200X pilot line winder with rotating four-drum turret, PLW-400X pilot line winder, P-1400X single drum puller, Duct Dawg DDHXA-75 underground puller with an on-board air compressor, T-2608 bullwheel tensioner, TRT-384 three reel trailer, UD-50 underground puller, CRS-108 reel stand, WB-1500/9+4.5 puller tensioner, WB-1500/5 puller tensioner, and a Spider® Tree for storage of Spider® reels, controllers, and adapters. An extensive block display was also set up featuring the XS-100 and XL-100 universal stringing blocks, many other distribution blocks, and several transmission blocks such as the 70, 72, 74, and the 78 Series.
