XS-100-B SHEAVE OPTIONS
4 sheave options to fit XS-100-B Blocks
Four sheave options are available for the XS-100-B blocks: polished groove aluminum, urethane lined, ductile iron, or nylon. All are 7 in. x 3 in., heat treated for strength and extended life, and finished with precision machining. All turn on low-friction, sealed, lubricated-for-life ball bearings, which render 98% efficiency and assure long-term reliability and smooth, minimum-load stringing. These sheaves are interchangeable with any other in an XS-100 B frame.
Polished Groove Aluminum
This 7 in. x 3 in. cast aluminum alloy sheave will provide a constant 98% efficiency during stringing to reduce the amount of force during pulling and tensioning operations. For multiple applications of conductor stringing and cable placement.
This sheave has the same profile as the polished groove aluminum sheave but has a cast-in-place polymer urethane with 90-92 “A” scale durometer hardness. S+R Urethane is a polymer with a special kind of thermo-setting characteristic. It combines in one material the resiliency of rubber and the hardness of structural plastics and possesses the additional important properties such as high load bearing capacities, resistance to impact, abrasion, compression set, ozone, oil, and many chemicals. Due to its elasticity, the material will flow under the load exerted by wire rope pulling line or conductor, making it an ideal application for conductor, static wire, or even fiber optic cables. Interchangeable with all XS-100 frames.
The toughest and most durable of all the sheaves is the 60-45-10 ductile iron-galvanized sheave. It has the same profile as the other 7 in. x 3 in. sizes and is totally interchangeable in any XS-100 frame. This sheave is ideal for stringing steel static, new or reconductoring. The block weight will increase approximately 7 lbs. when using the ductile iron sheave. This sheave is not recommended for aluminum conductor.
This sheave has the same profile as the other 7 in. x 3 in. sheaves but is manufactured from Nylon. Its combination of toughness, dimensional stability, impact/wear resistance,chemical resistance, and good dielectric properties result in a great choice for almost all stringing applications and cable placement. It is also totally interchangeable with all S + R XS-100 frames.
